Admission Procedure

Admission Requirement:

  • Admission and Registration

    All competent qualified students are widely accepted to join the university's faculties depending on their academic scores in national or rather international secondary school exam. 90% colleges (dentistry, pharmacy and physiotherapy), 80% engineering, 70% (Applied Arts / Applied Medical Sciences), 70% (Computer Science) / Biotechnology), 65% colleges (economics and political sciences / management / languages ​​and translation / media), 55% other colleges. · The minimum level of progress for international students is as follows: 70% Colleges (human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and physiotherapy), 65% Engineering, 65% (Applied Arts / Applied Medical Sciences), 65% / Management / Languages ​​and Translation / Media). Within the framework of the State's interest in increasing the number of expatriates in Egyptian universities, the Minister stressed the need to provide the necessary preparations to increase the number of expatriates, and facilitate the procedures for admission to them in accordance with the regulations and rules. The rules of coordination and acceptance also include the allocation of at least 5% minimum for students with Arab and foreign certificates equivalent to the high school certificate, the maximum number of additional international students 10% for practical colleges and 15% for theoretical colleges.

    As a private academic institution that officially follows the rules the Supreme Council for Private Universities, HUE submits itself to all SCU rules& decisions concerning both new & transferred students.

  • Application Form

    HUE's registration&admission office and online student portal are responsible for providing the application form that has to be attached with all necessary documents as follows:

  • First New Students Requirements:

    Applying students, with high school degree or with an equivalent certificate should necessarily present the following official documents:

    • Application form with all required data.
    • Foreign certificates are required to: present the original certificate that is certified either by the Egyptian Embassy or the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • Six recent photographs with white background.
    • A computerized form of certificate of birth or an equivalent official copy.
    • For Arab students:qualifications and certificates have to be officially certified and submitted with the original passport.
    • Egyptian male students are required to submit 2 Gond forms From Recruitment region.
    • Egyptian male students (over 19 years old)should submit 6Gond form from a police station following his residence.
    • Submitting a Passport is not a mustfor Egyptian students.

  • Second: Transferred Students Requirements:

    Transferred students from those who have been formerly affiliated to a further academic institution ( institute or university) should necessarily submit their previous affiliation documents beside the following:

    • A certified description of previous college/institution syllabus, student degrees and grades.
    • Transferred students coming from private universities must submit a certified sealed report.
    • Those with abroad learning certificate should have it certified from Egyptian Embassy.
    • A detailed course description for all successfully passed syllabuses should be submitted certified from the university. This is necessary for a scientific equivalent that equalizes studied materials in light of university applied rules with maximum 70% of hours necessary for graduation.

      • A detailed course description for all successfully passed syllabuses should be submitted certified from the university. This is necessary for a scientific equivalent that equalizes studied courses according to the university applied rules.
      • With maximum 70% of hours necessary for graduation.

    The system followed by HUE Faculties is that of credit hours that calculates coursework in standard unites termed credit hours. The academic programs follow the following rules:

    1. 1- 15 weeks academic semester.
    2. 2- The academic year is divided into two academic semesters in 30 weeks.
    3. The summer semester: Faculty of Dentistry from 6 to 8 weeks.
    4. Faculty of Pharmacy from 6 to 8 weeks (maximum 9 weeks)
    Advising center : upon registering, every student is assigned an academic guide by the faculty council. The advising center is a student aid center that facilitates for the students the process of course registering each semester and is equally intended to follow up students' performance until they graduate. The center solves any academic or other problems facing the students. The Academic Year :two academic semester plus summer semester. Academic Registration :represents the academic courses registered by the students. CGPA : the student's total scores in varied studied courses within all semesters. GPA : the total sum of courses scores the students got. Academic load :it is the sum of credit hours of courses the student register in a semester.   Advising center : that team who helps students in registering courses each semester, solves any problem and follows up students' performance till graduation.   Rank of Honor : this is granted by the university to students obtaining 3.7 or more in their GPA score to get Excellent with honor and also get 3.3 or more in their GPA to have very good with honor, in case that they do not get a "failing degree" (f) in whatever course till graduation stage.   Admission and Registration :facilitating and accomplishing all procedures and getting tuition fees dedicated for course registration. GPA : it is estimated by multiplying every course credit by the grade points corresponding to the grade received, then adding all points a student get and dividing the total by the number of credits in one semester. Progressing in study, the student's transcript will show a grade point average for each semester. The calculation of GPA :each semester, the students are shown by advising center rules of registration and the way they add or drop courses. In light of the academic year calendar, the student is liable to add or drop courses within the limits of the first three weeks of fall and spring semesters and first week of summer semester. This is a accepted after a recommendation note and permission from his/her academic guide. This add and drop process is accepted with the condition that they do not exceed the maximum credit hours allowed. Semester Withdrawal : this process stops and cancels student registration in all semester courses. To do so the student submits a petition to the advising canter and get the faculty council approval. However, withdrawal does not mean the refunding of the fees paid. University Withdrawal: :Withdrawing from the university, the student should necessarily get a signed withdrawal form from the advising center. Being under the age of 21, students 'parents have to sign the form. Re-admission : A student who needs to re-admit due to an interruption in study should submit a formal request form for re-admission to advising center. This has to be before the end of the semester registration period. Attendance and Punctuality Regulations : A maximum educational profit should be achieved through classes attendance. Those whose absence record is more than 25% of course hours are not allowed in the final exam and therefore has a failing grade (f) in the course. Whenever the student has got sudden conditions that keep him from setting for the final exam, he has to file a petition to the advising center. Academic Warning and Probation :Should the CGPA proves to be under the specified grade, the student is put under test for five semesters Maximum during which he or she has to take a reduced academic load to achieve the acceptable CGPA

    The duration of each semester is 15 weeks in addition to the summer semester

    The tuition fee for the summer semester is based on the number of hours the student registers

Science Club University Hostel: The university hostel for students of Horus University is one of the most important sectors of student care in the university which provides a stable and safe university life for expatriate students from their families. University hostels are the appropriate social center for the university student, which provides a climate of reassurance for the student and his guardian. A suitable place to stay fully equipped at the required level of Horus University .. Student Support Office (SSO): The Department of Student Support provides care to students in various fields, both socially and morally, not only educational and academic, but also social and moral support, as well as support for outstanding and talented students, as well as students who have failed academically. English language program for academic study: This program aims to improve the abilities and skills of university students in English language so that they can meet the requirements of specialization and address any linguistic problems that may face them during the study. This program is offered to students who are enrolled in the university in pre-academic or specialized studies Medical Center: - The University of Horus provides medical service to the University's community of students through specialized doctors and their assistants from a trained nursing staff who are academically and practically qualified to provide medical services for Emergency and critical cases. A specialized hospital is being set up to serve the surrounding community in the university. Student Transporting Service: - The University of Horus provides a service to transport students from the University through a large number of air-conditioned buses and equipment for the comfort of the students of the university during their journey from different governorates to the university and their return once again under the full supervision of the university to ensure the safety of our students Food Court The University guarantees its students a variety of foods, hot meals and drinks. The University is keen on its quality and safety through continuous monitoring to ensure that the health and hygiene requirements of our students are met. Copy Center: The University provides printing and Coping services for students throughout the academic year through the University's Coping and printing center under the supervision of the university administration. Security: - Of the important and vital departments of the University, which the Department has been keen to pay attention to and support the largest number of security personnel trained on how to maintain the security and safety of students within the university, may extend their role outside the campus if it was necessary to intervene in order to ensure the safety of students so that students Safety and security during the course of the educational process daily during the year. Library: - Each faculty has a library containing different types of scientific, historical and literary books as well as international journals and research articles of value in the fields of specialization of the students so that they can access the latest published in the international scientific journals. In addition to the electronic library, which is one of the priorities of the university to urge students to conduct research in the field of their academic specialization or in other areas of research under supervision and in coordination with professors and academic guides in all faculties.
